To Needle - The love of Shetlandia

Shetlandia is near and dear to my heart. It is the first yarn that I helped create with Kat and it was SO much fun to be able to contribute to the creation of a yarn. Shetlandia was the first, but it won’t be the last.

Shetland yarn is just begging for stranded color work knitting (Fair Isle knitting). With our - and yes, I think giving my opinion allows me to call it my own- Shetlandia, the ecru, buff and dark create an even greater range of color.

I started working on this cowl when we got the dark back from the mill, hoping that it would be complete when it was time to write my part of the Shetlandia blog. Sadly, it had to be placed on the back burner for a bit while I completed other things. I’ve been working on it again and enjoying it just as much as when I started.

Later, I will have to blog about Shetlandia again because Shetland yarn is also made for steeking. By the time I write the next post, the cowl will be done and I can show you Shetlandia with a steek.
